What we collect when you contact us, why, and the choices you have.

Who we are

What we collect
Only what you choose to send us:
- details you enter in our forms (partnership and funding enquiries), such as your name, organization, email, phone number and message;
- messages you send us by email or WhatsApp, including when you register for an event.
This website doesn't use cookies, advertising or analytics tracking.
Why we use it
To reply to you and follow up on what you asked about: arranging a partnership, discussing funding or registering you for an event. We don't sell your details or use them for unrelated marketing.
Who else handles it
- Netlify, our website host, receives and stores form submissions on our behalf.
- Google (Gmail) handles our email, and WhatsApp handles WhatsApp messages.
- The website's fonts load from Google Fonts, which receives your IP address when a page loads.
These services may store data outside Kenya. We don't share your details with anyone else unless you agree or the law requires it.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiries and messages for up to 2 years after our last contact with you, then delete them. You can ask us to delete them sooner.
Photos
We only publish photos of participants with their consent. To have a photo of you removed, email bfaclub2024@gmail.com.
Your rights
Under Kenya's Data Protection Act, 2019 you can ask to see the personal data we hold about you, have it corrected or deleted, or object to how we use it. Email bfaclub2024@gmail.com and we'll respond. If you're unhappy with our answer, you can complain to the Office of the Data Protection Commissioner.
